Musk....mysterious and ubiquitous simultaneously . How can that be ? I'm not sure I have ever smelled the real thing , but I probably have . I love the skanky old perfumes .There has to be real musk in some of the vintage I own . Who knows for sure ?

That's another story . He sent me a sample and the envelope arrived , empty . The post office had invaded my mail and removed the sample , leaving me a torn and empty emvelope .TWICE .
Alfredo was non-plussed , he kept sending samples . The third time was a charm , the envelope arrived and the sample was intact !
YAY !
Was it worth the frustration and the wait ?
OH , YES...
Botanical Musk NR. 5 is a very complex creation containing botanical ambrette musk , rose , iris , beeswax , Mysore Sandalwood and natural accords created by dupetit which are already avaiable on his website - Chypre accord , Vetiver , and Foin Coupe .
On opening , there is a smoky slap of birch tar , then it gets soft , and round , while being sweet and textured , woody , smoky and resinous . A little spicy and aromatic , this would be great on a man or a woman . The Captain loves it and asked for a bottle ( that rarely happens...)
Beautifully blended , no one note stands out . I was smitten immediately and must own a bottle of this ! Which I will have to share with the Captain .
When my bottle of Botanical Musk NR. 5 and sample set arrives , I will be reviewing the rest of his line , and giving away some samples too ...including Botanical Musk NR. 5 , compliments of Dupetit !

Is Germany known to be particularly difficult in the matter of shipping and receiving perfumes?
I just looked at their online shop--very interesting! And I can just see trying to get the "Cannabis" fragrance through customs... :-)

Alfredo is very generous and kind . We have been e-mailing back and forth , and he is sending me a sample set at no charge !!
QC - It is legal to use the cannabis SEED oil in products . The whole seed is very nutricious and moisturizing .

Carol, your giveaway these days are so many - I'm very frustrated that I'm on vacation and miss most of them (like the sandalwood one - especially). :) PLease count me in for this one.
I was one of the bloggers for the Mystery if Musk project and this is the only one I didn't receive. I'm wondering the same as Queen Cupcake about the shipping from Germany. I won a giveaway on another blog and that too was from Germany and I never received it. It could just be a coincidence. Anyway, I'd love to read what you think of this line of perfume.

This is a lighter interpretaion of those notes than you might think from reading the list...but lovely nonetheless , and the first FB worthy I have sniffed all summer...
