Summer of Patchouli Love - #1 Dupetit Indiene Drawing

Lovely Monica Miller has provided me with a 5 ml purse spray of Dupetit's  patchouli scent Indiene for a draw this week-end . I bought this for myself too - it was a favorite last year whren I first reviewed it , and remains a favorite today . DRAWING NOW CLOSED
Here is a reprint of my original review from September 2010 -
Give me patchouli !!
Dupetit has done just that...Indiene has been my favorite since first sniff . I smelled it first - of all the samples Alfredo sent - and it remains my favorite of his creations  . Strangely gourmand , this is the only patchouli I have wanted to actually eat .
At first , I didn't get all the patchouli , I have been sampling alot of new things lately....
anyway last week I put on some Cartier Trezieme Heure , not sure if it was too hot outside to enjoy it or not . I love the smoky/patch aspect of Trezieme Heure . Then a few hours later , I forgot and applied some Indiene....wow the patchouli popped out at me like crazy .

The combination of tonka , almond and patchouli is soft and powdery and unlike quite anything else I own . This reminds me of my HG patchouli , DSH Vintage Patchouly . In fact , it may have topped it as my new HG patchouli .
This is mostly a soft cashmere shawl , just unpacked from the shipping cartons , little leaves of patchouli still clinging to it...

Notes :
bitter almond , sherry , rose , patchouli ,vanilla , tonka , cannabis concrete

To be entered in the draw , tell me your favorite patchouli scent . Drawing Sunday - to celebrate WAFT's third birthday !

Hmm that sounds like a patchouli I could like.
Time ago I didn't like patch, but it has grown on me and now I enjoy fragrances with a touch of its earthy and dirty smell.

I think patch is one of those materials that one must have a light hand when blending. It can pack a powerful punch and when overused it smells like Play-Doh to me. I'm a fan though, when it plays well with the other materials.

Carol - I've been at the horse sales and am just catching up, but thank you so much for bringing the dupetit line and his very informative and charming interview to us. I cannot wait to order samples; you have me lemming all of them!

I would love to own *anything* DuPetit, he has garnered a lot of votes in Summer of Patchouli Love and I have heard many good things about his work and talent as a perfumer. Thanks for the draw!

Happy Birthday! I have a love affair with patchouli, too. Xerjoff Richwood is an amazing patchouli with woods. For straight up patch though I love Mazzolari Patchouly.

I will say that of the 13 patchouli perfumes Dupetit's Indiene is definitely the best "everyday" patchouli scent for me. Never heavy or overbearing one can feel polished in an easy carefree way.

Happy Birthday, WAFT! This perfume sounds delectable. Some patchouli's are too acrid for my taste. My favorite patchouli scent is Cormandel.

Thanks for offering this really neat draw!

I haven't played around with many finished scents strong in patchouli, but I read about blending patchouli with rose absolute to give additional depth and character to rose scents and have found that to be a fantastic pairing.

Happy Birthday! I would love to be entered in this draw. I tend to like softer oriental spicy fragrances, so I may like this.

Happy upcoming Birthday!

I do not have a favorite patchouli-centered perfume, but among those that have this note I really enjoy Le Labo Iris 39.

Thank you for the draw.

Happy Third Birthday, WAFT, and you're "gonna have a good time". Beatles "Birthday"

Patchouli is my good friend. Montale Patchouli Leaves is a standout, and I am crazy about the patchouli in Parfumerie Generale's L'Ombre Fauve.

Thank you for the wonderful draw!

Happy Bday WAFT! Patch is one of my favs and nobody does it like Neil Morris. Summer of Love, Dark Earth, Hippie...so many others. We actually figured the connection between the ones I love is patchouli:) Would love to be in the draw.
