more Dupetit...

photo of my magnolia tree

Magnolias make a statement .
Seriously , if you have never been up close , standing under a 30 foot tree covered in blossoms , why honey chile you ain't experienced the south .
Magnolias are large , waxy , sexy , and did I say large ? Thick fleshy petals of the most otherworldly white....the tree in our yard is quite fragrant too .
As most of us know , magnolia oil is not distillled , it must be re-created using other things that approximate the smell of magnolias .

Dupetit has created a Magnolia accord befitting such a dynamic , fully present flower as the magnolia .
And , I don't care for it .
It's true . We can't love everything and this one is not for me . It is penetrating but soft , and true to what my magnolias smell like , just too much of it .

notes :
orange and lemon , jasmine , tuberose , ylang-ylang , neroli , vanilla , violet , rose , benzoin , copaiba absolute

Eau de Dupetit - the one that carries the name of the house...it must be difficult to choose a fragrance that will carry your name .
On first sniff this is masculine and traditionally chic . The grapefruit is most prominent , suggestably naughty , but not too -too...the spices are milder than expected , the juniper /pepper hold a tight balance ! It's a well thought out cologne that's not sweet .
notes
orange , lemon , mandarin , grapefruit , spices , juniper , tuberose , pepper

Tomorrow - my two favorites , then Dupetit answers some questions .

Cannabis ?

Magic Forest...?

Looking forward to reading the reviews of your two favorites!

I have never smelt a real magnolia flower, so I can't imagine how it smells like, but I usually like fragrances which contain the magnolia note.
