Sweets for the sweet...Plum is much sweeter than I imagined ! Girlie , pretty - ringing clean and clear like a little bell for the first 2 hours , the fruity orange blossom note is sunny and yet cool .
I only dabbed on a drop , yet it wafted up from my wrist as I went about the house .
Sweet-tart , quite linear for the first few hours , Plum seemed it might disappoint me , but then a creamy jasmine-tuberose revealed itself from under the tart green-ness , quite a surprise !
Chypre ? No .... At least not compared to my vast vintage collection of fragrances , although it has a slight woody drydown with a touch of discernable patchouli that gives it depth . This has great longevity , the tart top notes hang around for at least 2 hours before the creamy floral heart appears . The drydown is subtle
( you know I love my patch/oakmoss...but ! ) Very well done , my little decant of Plum was worth the wait .
( crossing the Atlantic , taking forever to arrive in my mailbox ! )
The name is perfect !
top notes :
peach, blackcurrant, plum, bergamot, and lemon.
heart notes :
gardenia, tuberose, orange flower absolute, rose absolute and jasmine absolute.
base notes :
precious woods, sandalwood, oakmoss, patchouli, amber and white musks
One lucky reader will recieve a sample , drawing on Saturday February 19th .

Sorry, I haven't heard one bit of buzz about this one. Now that I've heard of it, I would like to hear more...
I know a perfumista who is just wild about Plum! Your description of the notes, especially the "creamy jasmine-tuberose" and "tart greeness" has me craving a sniff.
Please do not enter my name in the draw. I recently won a draw on another site. It's time for someone else to be lucky!
I too know a perfumista who is wild about Plum! She has some other fragrance loves in common with me, and I've been aching to try it!
I'd love to win a sample :)
I've heard good things about it, but none as great as your description.
Your article is my intro to this scent, and it sounds very Spring-into-Summer!! Thank you for the drawing...do you have any idea how many contests you have per year??? :-)
I can't say I've heard a great deal about Plum, but I've heard a great deal about Mary Greenwell. She seems one of those just-under-the-radar perfumers who are garnering a lot of raves. So I'd love to try this - just by your lovely description, my nostrils are flaring!
I've heard some buzz about Plum, but mainly it is Mals86 blog that makes me curious about it.
I never heard or read a thing about this perfume, but you have written a great review and I would love to try it.
Thank you!
Basically the buzz I have hears is "yum!". :)
Have heard many positive comments about this (loves and likes) from the commenters on Now Smell This and it made Vanessa's Top Sniffs of 2010 at Bonkers about Perfume. The only really detailed review I've seen is by Mals at Muse in Wooden Shoes as Warum mentions above, who says she could wear this for the rest of her life.

The buzz, it seems, is increasing. After reading about this in Muse in Wooden Shoes I searched all over and Mary Greenwell Plum seems to be unobtainable in the US. I'm very curious about it.
Until now I've only read about it at Muse in Wooden Shoes, and she seems head over heels for it. I'd love to be included in the drawing because both of you have made this fragrance sound so lovely.
Thanks!
I've heard that it is lovely, a bit tart...but isn't there something people are saying about the oakmoss? That it is superb?
Mary greenwell has now launched the PLum frangrance in the UK from her own official website Mary Greenwell
