Sabon Femme

With Holiday overeating on the horizon , it's time to consider what scent to wear for the festivities .
Gourmand scents are a shoe-in . But not for me .
I try , I seriously keep trying to wear vanilla but I just can't .
And Femme by Sabon is a big ole powder puff of vanilla in a woodsy box trimmed with a jasmine blossom and - bleargh . No can do . It's girly and soft , not particularly long lasting and should please those sitting around the Thanksgiving table around you - nothing challenging or reflex inducing . Me ? I won't be wearing it unfortunately . Many thanks to Musette for her constant care and fun packages , but this one will get passed on to another who will wear it !
Back to the search...any gourmand suggestions ?
Maybe Washington Tremlett Clove Absolute , I haven't sniffed that in ages...

Top -ylang-ylang and bergamot.
Heart - jasmine and clove
Base -vanilla, sandalwood and musk

Those who would like a decant of the Yendi , please make sure to e-mail me your adress !
Also , check out my sale in the boutique . ( Link on the upper right hand side  )

I'm craving gourmands at the moment as well and the first thing I turned to were Dawn's perfumes. :)
Since you're not a vanilla fan, I must say I can't think of many choices - possibly MdO Vanilla which is quite smoky and not sweet or a Montale oud-gourmand (is there a such one, I'd like one too)?
With the exception of gourmands, I'm very much into ouds at the moment (I need some underlying strength these days and oud helps a lot).

P.S. Yendi sounds good. :)

LOL! It's okay - you can hate it - that's half the fun of sending samples out! :-D March and I found it in the Sabon boutique and liked it a lot but now I can't remember what it smells like. Will have to retry. I think I remember a similarity to the reformulated Rochas Femme, without the sweaty bits...?

@Musette
I actually bought Sabon unsniffed when I was ordering some bath products, yes---after seeing March's positive review. Femme underwhelms me. Inoffensive, and not at all engaging either...

@Carol-- I usually choose spicy scents to wear for Thanksgiving: like Serge Lutens Five O'Clock Au Gingembre, or maybe Rousse. Or Like This Tilda Swinton! (has a little gingery pumpkin note...)
Happy Thanksgiving. Big feast for lots of family members at my place. In fact off to cook right now ;)
