Aftelier Pink Lotus

UPDATE : The gorgeous aged sandalwood in this is so profound , I have been spoiled forever....earthy , chewy , yet sweet and smooth . Heartbreaking !!
This is a reprint from 2009 , but since I am giving away a mini bottle I wanted to include this short review . Pink Lotus has been discontinued , but I have 2 bottles for myself and joyfully want to share a little of what Mandy sent me !
There is a stillness on the edge of morning that is profound . It is not light , and yet it is not dark .
A ray of light splits the dawn and up from out of the stillness , and the mud , an unopened bud breaks the water's indigo surface....the earth is ripe and dirty . It cares not if you approve .
Slowly , the stem rises , unfurling its delicate pink petals to the sun....smiling a sweet serene smile . Graceful , translucent , with a little bit of mud on her skirt .

notes :
pink lotus , aged sandalwood

I have heard originally this was a custom scent made for Madonna .

Several new releases featuring sandalwood, but Im sure they are nothing like Pink Lotus! I don't think I have sniffed this although you've been a fan for ages. Also must try Muse too, sounds right up my alley. Hope you are enjoying your cooler weather still,Carol. The trees are changing to red and gold here, and I get so much pleasure from the display of colors :))

Not sure I ever had the chance to sniff this one. But if good sandalwood is a key component, then i believe it's as wonderful as you say!

Carol, Thank you again for such a wonderful focus on my work this week! I really appreciate how your descriptions introduce each fragrance’s “personality”. I should point out that Pink Lotus is available on my new Perfumes Past page here:

If it was good enough for Madge who is notoriously choosey and able to afford anything then I say I need to try this so I can for just a mon=ment in time speaking with a British accent of course, be Maddonna. :))))

I really like sandalwood as a note. I did come across a few perfumes that manages to spoil it but many that I have or tries were very good so I'd love to try Pink Lotus - especially since it IS available for purchase (I alway feel a little heart-broken when I fall in love with a perfume I cannot buy any more).

Pink Lotus is a really nice soft scent. I quickly used up the sample I purchased a while back, I would love the chance to revisit it!

Malin + Goetz has a lotus fragrance. Do you happen to know how Pink Lotus compares? Thanks!
